Denise Newman, PhD

Meet the current SIP mentorship Chair . . . Dr. Denise L. Newman obtained her Ph.D. in clinical and developmental psychology from the University of Minnesota and has a specialization in the field of developmental psychopathology. She is currently in private practice in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Newman's treatment orientation takes a modern neuro-psychoanalytic approach: She has special interest in developmental and depth-oriented processes focussing on the childhood, unconscious, and cultural meanings of the mind in the context of a safe therapeutic relationship.

SIP Mentoring Program General Information


Eligibility:  SIP membership

Membership costs:  Student: $10 annually  |  Professionals: $50 annually

Mentee: Anyone who can benefit from a SIP professional mentor including undergraduate/graduate students and early career professionals.

 Participation requires:  Monthly Mentorship Video Chats
                                      2-Mentee Webinars
                                      Attend SIP Retreat & Conference Mentorship Activities

Mentorship enrollment & participation requires completion of the mentorship program application.
